The world is our classroom and JSU全球 offers study abroad opportunities that help JSU’s mission to produce technologically advances, 多样化的, 道德, global leaders who think critically, address societal problems and compete effectively. Studying  abroad helps to meet this challenge by providing opportunities that internationalize JSU's students and faculty through exposure and experiences around the world.

Study abroad is when a student takes classes or have experiences in another country. These programs are  excellent opportunities to see a new part of the world, experience a different culture, 和旅行. This allows you to maximize your experience and exposure to new places.

The Different Types of 出国留学 Programs

Independent 出国留学

Choose from hundreds of study abroad opportunities from non-JSU institutions and providers, such as the Council on 国际 Education Exchange (CIEE), CIS Abroad and SIT 出国留学. With an indepedent study abroad prgram, you select the program that is appropiate fro you and your academic, financial and cultural goals. 

教师领导

Faculty led study abroad is short-term, academic experiences / programs that are initiated, organized and carried out by full-time members of JSU faculty. These programs vary in length and credit hours. Students are enrolled in a class at Jackson State, part of the class is taught on campus at JSU as an in-person, hybrid or online course as well as in another country. 

志愿者 

A non-academic international experience were students travel abroad to volunteer or perform community service.

文化体验

A non-academic international experience in another country to become more familiar with the country's culture, 语言, 历史, 等. 

实习 

Students can intern in another country to gain practical experience in their field / major. The internship can count for academic and non academic credit. These type of programs are typically offered through third party companies. 

交流项目

Jackson State University has a number of memorandums of understandings (MOUs) with foreign universities were our students pay their tuition to JSU and take classes abroad at another university.
